Hello and welcome!  I have had the pleasure of being a part of the Redfish community for the last 5 years as a teacher with the last 2 years as a parent.   I feel very fortunate to be a part of this strong team of parents, staff and students supported by our greater community.

Currently I can be found in the Grade 4/5 class in Room 8.  Please feel free to stop by and say hello or contact me by email.

My passions for the outdoors and place-based learning has inspired me to help with the planning and implementation of our Redfish LEAD program as we welcome Grade 6’s and 7’s back to Redfish over the next two years.  We are very excited about what the program will offer to students, as well as the team-based, community approach to planning that is going into creating our intermediate leaders program.

I finished my undergraduate degree at UBC, majoring in Canadian History and completed the West Kootenay Teacher Education Program in 2008.  My 10 years of teaching experience has been in small rural schools in Alberta and in the Kootenay Lake School District.  I love the unique opportunities rural schools present to students, staff and families.

Having grown up in the Kootenay’s I know that this amazing area has so much to offer to all, especially our youth.  Connection to nature, environmental stewardship and sustainable living are, in my opinion, essential pieces to becoming a well-rounded and successful citizen in our world today and in the future.  It is my hope to bring learning opportunities to my students that allow for these areas to develop as well as encourage the growth of personal passions and real life skills.

Please feel free to connect anytime and I look forward to working with you!
