REDFISH held its annual ‘Truth + Reconciliation’ assembly yesterday… complete with a direct connection to the local land through a school-wide trail walk through the forest at Redfish Creek in the gentle rain. The gathering was intended to prime our hearts and minds in preparation for today’s National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. With this in mind, REDFISH hopes that today’s nation-wide day of recognition and reflection over the atrocities of the residential school system was somehow and in some way more than just another statutory holiday.
