It’s hard to believe that May is already upon us! The year is flying by, and I am glad to be travelling with such a fine CREW at REDFISH Elementary school! Here are a couple of highlights and heads-ups coming to you at lightspeed over the internet on this ‘May the Fourth’ of 2024…

REDFISH GOLFS?!

REDFISH teed off on a fresh set of school-wide golf lessons for students in Grades 1-6 this past week. The Grade 1 students from Mrs. Heddon and Ms. Daniela’s class joined Mrs. Dehnel’s class on the practice green and driving range at the beautiful BALFOUR GOLF COURSE where they received pro tips and positive reinforcement from course staff. Special thank you to Craig Wilkinson (General Manager) for spearheading the program!

BASKETBALL PLAY-DAY X CHAMBER of MINES (HR5)

Students in Ms. Hodgson’s Homeroom 5 class wrapped up their week with a basketball play-day at WILDFLOWER followed by a trip to the Chamber of Mines on Hall Street where they learned more about the mining industry... and the various rocks they brought along with them.

TRACK + FIELD MEET VOLUNTEERS (Friday, May 31, 2024)

REDFISH will be looking for parent volunteers to help run a concession at the Grade 4/5 Track + Field Meet at REDFISH on Friday, May 31, 2024. Please mark your calendars and stay tuned for more information to follow.    

LOST + FOUND PURGE

Please note that we have many winter clothing items still left out on our ‘Lost + Found’ tables at REDFISH. Please feel free to stop by the school and have a look if your child is missing articles of clothing. 

SD8 ANNUAL BUS REGISTRATION

The SD8 Transportation Department is accepting bus registration applications from now until June 14, 2024. All riders must register annually. Click HERE to register. 

MULCH SALE FUNDRAISER (BLEWETT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL | May 11, 2024)

If you happen to need mulch, please note that BLEWETT Elementary School is holding a mulch sale fundraiser next Saturday, May 11, 2024. Please see the poster attached to the parent email for more details.

AFTER-SCHOOL BASKETBALL PROGRAM (École des Sentiers-Alpins)

Students between the ages of 10-13 are invited to take part in the ‘After School Hoops’ program run out of École des Sentiers-Alpins on Thursday afternoons until June. Please see the registration form attached to the parent email for more details.
