Dear REDFISH Families,

I really miss the snow, but it’s hard to pout when the sun is out! I hope this weekly message finds you well, Team REDFISH. Here are a few highlights and heads-ups as we close off another great week at REDFISH and look ahead to two consecutive four-day weeks for the kids…  

SWIMMING + WATER SAFETY EDUCATION

Today was a day loaded with smiles from the morning bell straight through to the dismissal bell. REDFISH wrapped up the week with another successful trip to the NDCC pool today. Thanks again to all the school volunteers and staff who continue to make this experience possible!

ANCIENT CIVILIZATIONS MUSEUM EXHIBIT

Ms. Hodgson’s GR5/6 students deserve another shout out for the great work they did on their Ancient Civilizations projects. Thank you to all the parents who came out to support their museum exhibit!

PANCAKE LUNCH

REDFISH students will be treated to a pancake lunch on Valentine’s Day… Wednesday, February 14, 2024. This special event is spearheaded by Mrs. Goggins’s GR3/4 class. Our School Librarian, Mrs. Heddon, also worked with staff to plan a special school-wide afternoon of station activities on that day.

NO SCHOOL (FEBRUARY 16+19, 2024)

Please note that there is no school for students on Friday, February 16, 2024 (i.e. PRO-D Day) and Monday, February 19, 2024 (i.e. Family Day). We hope that REDFISH families will be able to make room for some quality family time together over the long weekend.

NELSON BASEBALL REGISTRATION (2024 SEASON)

Returning players who were registered with the Nelson Baseball Association in 2023 can sign up now. New players can register on February 24, and students can find all information on the NBA website (i.e. nelsonbaseball.ca). Please see the poster attached to the parent email for more details.
