Please find below some highlights, reminders, and heads-ups for your ease of reference as we wrap-up another busy and exciting week at REDFISH…

 

HAPPY EARTH DAY!

 

With EARTH DAY falling on Monday’s PRO-D day this year, REDFISH celebrated early by kicking off the morning with a playground + neighbourhood garbage pick-up session before breaking out into school teams for the afternoon.

 

Thanks to the efforts of the wonderful staff and WKTEP teacher candidates at REDFISH, students were able to effortlessly and engagingly move through various EARTH DAY stations this afternoon… with activities ranging from the planting of marigolds to the constructing of origami tulips to the building of seed bombs from recycled paper pulp.

 

DISTRICT PRO-D DAY (April 22, 2024)

 

A quick reminder that SD8 schools are not in session for students this MONDAY, APRIL 22, 2024 as staff across the district join together for the DISTRICT PRO-D DAY…

 

STUDENT-LED CONFERENCES (April 24, 2024)

 

As previously mentioned, student-led conferences are scheduled for Wednesday, April 24, 2024 from 2 – 6 PM. Please refer to the separate emails that were sent out to parents with additional details and scheduling links. Hope to see you there!

 

EARLY DISMISSAL DAYS (April 24 + 25, 2024)

 

Schools across SD8 will dismiss one-hour early on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 and Thursday, April 25, 2024. For REDFISH, that means that the dismissal bell will sound at 1:02 PM. Buses will also be running an hour earlier on Wednesday and Thursday.

 

HOMEROOM PHOTOS (April 25, 2024)

 

REDFISH homeroom (i.e. class) photos are scheduled for the morning of Thursday, April 25, 2024.

 

GEORAMA FUNDRAISER (HR4)

 

Please consider supporting HOMEROOM 4’s ‘Mother’s Day’ fundraiser through Georama Growers. Payments for the HR4 fundraiser must be paid on the REDFISH website. 

 

GROWING SMILES FUNDRAISER (RPAC)

 

RPAC is also running a fundraiser through Growing Smiles. Payments for the RPAC fundraiser must be made through the Growing Smiles website.

 

SD8 ANNUAL BUS REGISTRATION

 

Registration is open! The SD8 Transportation Department is accepting bus registration applications from now until June 14, 2024. Please note that all riders must register annually.

 

KLFN ‘FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT’ (April 26, 2024)

 

The Kootenay Lake Family Network (KLFN) will be hosting a FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT fundraiser by donation at Procter Hall on Friday, April 26, 2024.

 

BALFOUR KIDS ‘CLOTHING SHARE’ DONATIONS

 

Balfour Kids will be holding its spring ‘KIDS CLOTHING SHARE’ on Saturday, April 27, 2024. In preparation, REDFISH will have a collection bin out front of the school office from Tuesday, April 2, 2024 through Friday, April 26, 2024. If interested, please feel free to drop off clean and usable kids clothing (i.e. up to Size 14) and sports gear.
