Principal's MESSAGE (April 12, 2024)
Dear REDFISH Families,
We hope you are doing well as these weekday April showers slowly give way to weekend solar powers! Please find below some important highlights, reminders, and heads-ups for your ease of reference as we head out into what is forecasted to be a beautiful weekend…
Mrs. Sandquist and her GR2/3 (HR3) students hosted Mrs. Mushumanski and her GR2/3 class from HUME Elementary at REDFISH’s beautiful Outdoor Classroom along the banks of Redfish Creek this morning to kick-off their ‘Kokanee Release Party’. Stories were shared, nature was observed, data was collected, and good times were had by all as students released a few hundred kokanee fry into Redfish Creek with help from staff and community volunteers.
Mrs. Goggins and her GR3/4 (HR4) students travelled into town today to take care of the business end of S8’s annual ‘Reading Challenge’ hosted by TRAFALGAR. The REDFISH reading representatives took home second place in the contest and then celebrated with a class pizza lunch before heading down to the Nelson Touchstones Museum’s Cold War Bunker exhibit.
REDFISH MUSIC PROGRAM SPRING SHOWCASE (May 29, 2024)
Ms. Keraiff and her REDFISH MUSIC PROGRAM are excited to showcase their locally grown talent in a Spring Showcase in the GYM at REDFISH on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 1 PM. Families are invited. Get ready to rock, REDFISH!
T2 LEARNING UPDATE SURVEY
Last call to complete the super-quick, but uber-important survey linked in the parent email. Please consider taking a moment to provide us with this important feedback if you haven’t already. Starting next week, we will begin reaching out directly to individual families who have not completed the survey. Thank you, as always, for your time!
STUDENT-LED CONFERENCES (April 24, 2024)
As mentioned, student-led conferences are set for Wednesday, April 24, 2024 from 2 – 6 PM. Mark your calendars for this great opportunity to spend up to thirty minutes alongside your child in their own classroom… interacting over work samples, celebrating progress, and setting goals for the remaining couple months of the school year. Please look out for a separate email to follow which will include a link to the sign-up sheet for your child’s homeroom.
GEORAMA FUNDRAISER (HR4)
Please consider supporting HOMEROOM 4’s ‘Mother’s Day’ fundraiser through GEORAMA GROWERS. Order forms were sent home with students today. A PDF copy of the order form is also attached to the parent email.
