Dear students, staff, parents/guardians,
The Interior Health Authority has confirmed members of the school community at Rosemont Elementary have tested positive for COVID-19. Those confirmed cases and those potentially exposed have been notified and are self-isolating at home with support from local public health teams. The Interior Health Authority will follow up with anyone potentially exposed to a confirmed case directly through contact tracing. Only Interior Health will do this. Please do not take your information from anywhere else.
We thank the Erickson Elementary School community who went through a similar situation last week in Creston.
Our schools remain open during these times. Only those notified need to self-isolate. It may be an individual, a group of people, and perhaps an entire class. Once the self-isolation periods have been completed, all may return to school.
The safety and well-being of students, families, and staff remain our highest priority. School District 8 – Kootenay Lake will continue to implement the strict health and safety protocols and procedures that are in place so children and staff can continue to attend school as safely as possible.
Our school district will continue to work closely with the Interior Health Authority to determine if any additional actions are required and to support ongoing communication to our school community.
Please follow all protocols, take care, do not gather, continue to wash your hands, and stay safe.
